A huge thanks to everyone for making the recent exhibition at the Viste WWII bunkers something to remember. From the many remarkably enthusiastic visitors, to those that purchased works, and the chorus of well-wishers both here in Norway and back home, we are really grateful to you all. x

In May this year local artist Hilde Mjølsnes and I held a joint exhibition of work in a series of former Nazi bunkers on the coast in Viste, Norway. The show featured paintings and drawings by each of us, as well as a large paper installation collaboration. By turning these bunkers into a temporary gallery we engaged largely forgotten spaces, lighting them for the first time in almost 70 years.
All the artworks exhibited were produced on the property and created as much in response to the beauty of the unique setting as to its dark history. The success of the show exceeded our expectations, with the viewers showing great enthusiasm not only for the art but for the initiative to invite the community into these historically significant and engaging spaces.
